Kemp Photography brings a full portable studio to your engineering or construction office and photographs principals, project managers, designers and field staff back to back. Half Day is $3,600, Full Day starts at $4,850, travel included. Your next proposal gets a team page that looks as sharp as the work.

Why engineering and construction firms need consistent headshots
Your proposal is often scored before anyone meets you. Evaluators flip to the key personnel pages and read the resumes, and the photos next to them speak for the firm. A tidy set of matching portraits signals an organization that controls its quality. A mix of cropped snapshots signals the opposite.
Teams in this field change by project. A different mix of people goes into every submission, which means any person in the firm might show up in the next pursuit. A complete, current roster with the same look saves the proposal coordinator from hunting for usable photos at 9 p.m. the night before a deadline.
It matters for hiring too. Engineers and estimators look at your team page when deciding whether to apply. Show them people, not stock icons.
We have photographed engineering firms before, so the mix of office staff, field staff and deadline-driven schedules is familiar ground.

How does a headshot day work for field and office staff?
Kemp Photography sets up a portable studio in a conference room or training room in about 45 to 60 minutes, then photographs each person in 2 to 3 minutes. Field staff are scheduled when they are in the office or at the yard. Everyone previews, picks a favorite and receives a retouched final.
Planning notes for this sector:
- Pick a day when the crew is in. Many firms use a quiet week between project phases, a safety stand-down or a company meeting when people are already together.
- Field and yard offices. If you have a trailer or field office with enough space, tell us. A small room with a power outlet is the requirement.
- Early starts. Construction days begin early. We can begin the schedule at the time your people typically arrive, within what makes sense for set-up.
- Principals and PMs. These are the faces that go on every proposal, so book their slots first and leave buffer in case a client call runs long.
- Multiple offices. Branches in different cities can be quoted as one project, with the same recipe at each.
Our crew is internally trained Kemp staff, and we travel from Orange County to you. We do not hand your job to a local contractor.
What should engineers and construction staff wear for headshots?
Dress for the audience reading the proposal, which is usually a public agency or a corporate owner. Business-casual works for most roles. Principals often go a notch more formal. Decide one standard per audience and tell your staff in advance.

- Background. Neutral gray or warm off-white keeps attention on the face and photographs well in small thumbnails.
- Wardrobe. Collared shirts, blazers, simple blouses or sweaters. Solid colors beat busy patterns. Company-branded polos work if everyone has one that is clean and fits.
- Safety gear. Hard hats and vests belong on project pages. For resumes, a clean portrait without gear usually reads as more polished. If you want both, tell us and we can plan a few extra frames.
- Expression. Confident and approachable. Owners want a partner they can call when something goes sideways.
- Framing. Slightly looser than usual, so the portrait survives a small thumbnail in a proposal resume block.
What does an engineering or construction headshot day cost?
One flat fee covers the whole day. Half Day is $3,600 for about 50 to 60 team members. Full Day is from $4,850 for about 150 to 250. Very large or multi-branch firms receive a quote. Travel is included in that rate.
| Firm size | Likely fit | Rate | Illustrative math |
|---|---|---|---|
| Boutique, up to ~60 | Half Day | $3,600 | Rate divided by headcount |
| Mid-size, ~150–250 | Full Day | From $4,850 | $4,850 ÷ 150 ≈ $32 per person (illustrative) |
| Multi-office or national | Quoted | Quoted | Up to ~250 in a full day, with extra sets beyond that |
Engineering and construction headshot FAQ
Can field staff and office staff be photographed in the same day? Yes, as long as they are on site at the same time. Many firms pick a day when a project team is back at the office, or arrange a time slot at a yard or field office. Tell us how your people move around and we will help plan it.
Can headshots be used in proposal resumes? Yes. Consistent portraits are a common reason firms book us. We frame with a little extra room so the photo can be cropped to the small thumbnail used in a standard resume block.
Do we need to wear hard hats or safety gear? Only if you want that look. Most firms choose business or business-casual portraits for proposals and save safety-gear photos for project pages. Decide on one standard per audience and let us know.
We have offices in several cities. Can they match? Yes. We use the same lighting and background setup at each location, and where possible the same lead photographer. Multi-office projects are quoted.
How does the team get its photos? Each person sees their images right away or in a private gallery, chooses a favorite, and we retouch that pick. Finals typically arrive within 1 to 2 weeks, and the company receives a roster page of all proofs and selections.
