Kemp Photography brings a full portable studio to your San Diego office and photographs your team back to back. A half day is $3,600 and a full day is $4,850, both flat. Our crew is based up the I-5 in Orange County, and travel is already in the price.

Why San Diego teams book an on-site headshot day
San Diego's office economy leans on a few distinct groups, and each has its own headshot problem.
- Biotech and life sciences. Torrey Pines, Sorrento Valley, and UTC are full of research-driven companies. Scientists and executives appear in investor decks, grant materials, conference programs, and partnering pages. Most of them dislike being photographed and dread a scheduled studio trip.
- Defense and engineering. Point Loma, Kearny Mesa, and the bayfront host defense contractors and engineering firms. Headshots go on proposals, capability statements, and staff directories where consistency matters more than style.
- Wireless, software, and hardware. Sorrento Mesa and Carlsbad teams add specialists constantly, and their leadership pages go stale quickly.
- Healthcare, hospitality, and tourism. Health systems, medical practices, resorts, and the convention business all lean on friendly faces for staff directories and recruiting pages.
Shared pain across all four: a few executives have polished portraits, and everyone else has a crop from a team offsite. One day on site gives the whole organization a single, current look.
How a headshot day works in a San Diego office
San Diego offices are spread out. Torrey Pines and Sorrento Valley are research parks with low-rise buildings and ample parking. Downtown and the waterfront have mid- and high-rise towers with garages and loading areas. Kearny Mesa and Mission Valley mix both.
Research parks. Labs and cleanrooms are never the studio. We set up in a conference room or a break room, and people come to us in clean street clothes between experiments. Staggering sessions in ten-minute blocks keeps benches running.
Downtown towers. Property management may want a load-in window and paperwork. COI is available on request and we can send it to the building ahead of time.
Secured sites. If your building has visitor sign-in or an escort policy, give us the steps with your booking and we plan around them.
The sequence:
- Book. Share the address, headcount, and target weeks. A 50 percent retainer reserves the date.
- Room. You pick a space near 10 by 20 feet with an outlet; we confirm the layout.
- Setup. We show up roughly an hour before the first session to build the studio.
- Camera. Two to three minutes per person.
- Pick. Employees review on the spot and choose a favorite.
- Finals. Retouched files typically arrive within one to two weeks, along with a roster page.
What does a corporate headshot day cost in San Diego?
A San Diego day costs $3,600 for a half day or $4,850 for a full day, with travel from Orange County included. The price does not move with the number of people you photograph. A half day fits 50 to 60 and a full day fits 150 to 250.
| Package | Flat rate | Typical headcount | Illustrative cost per person |
|---|---|---|---|
| Half Day | $3,600 | ~50–60 | ~$60–$72 |
| Full Day | $4,850 | ~150–250 | ~$19–$32 |
| Multi-site or larger | Quoted | 250+ | Multi-set or multi-day |
Per-person figures are illustrative. For a mid-sized biotech with 90 people, a full day usually works out better than a half day plus overflow. Tell us the headcount and we will say which fits.

Neighborhoods and suburbs we serve around San Diego
The county is long and narrow, with offices from the border to North County. We plan for:
- Downtown San Diego, Little Italy, and the waterfront
- La Jolla, UTC, and Torrey Pines
- Sorrento Valley and Sorrento Mesa
- Kearny Mesa and Mission Valley
- Point Loma and the Midway District
- Del Mar, Carlsbad, and Oceanside
- Rancho Bernardo, Poway, and Escondido
- San Marcos and Vista
- Chula Vista and National City
If your office sits somewhere else in the county, tell us. We drive to you.
Multi-office companies with a San Diego location
San Diego often serves as a second office for companies headquartered in the Bay Area, Boston, or overseas. It is also the home office for firms with satellites up and down the coast. In both cases, a new employee in a San Diego lab should not look like they come from a different company than the CEO in another time zone.
We solve that by keeping one lighting and backdrop recipe across every site and, where possible, the same lead photographer. Our Sentry Insurance rollout covered 552 employees in 12 states in about one month, proof that a spread-out rollout does not require a different photographer in each city. Combining San Diego with Los Angeles and Orange County is especially easy, since the crew is already in Southern California.
San Diego headshot day FAQ
What does a corporate headshot day cost in San Diego? Two flat rates. Pick by headcount: $3,600 covers about 50 to 60 people, $4,850 covers about 150 to 250. Our crew comes down from Orange County and travel is included, so no line item appears for the drive. Multi-site or very large projects are quoted separately.
Our team is in a lab and office building. Where do you shoot? Outside the lab, in any quiet room around 10 by 20 feet with an outlet. A conference room, break room, or empty office works. We never need access to wet labs or restricted areas. Employees walk over in street clothes, sit for two to three minutes, and head back to their bench.
Can you work at a defense contractor or secured site? We can work with visitor and escort procedures if you tell us what they are in advance. Send the check-in steps with your booking so the crew arrives with the right names and timing. If equipment must be declared at the gate, flag that early and we will plan the load-in around it.
Can you cover Sorrento Valley and Carlsbad in the same week? Usually, yes. Those two sit well apart on the I-5 corridor, so we schedule them as separate days with the same lighting and background setup and the same lead photographer where possible. Send both addresses and headcounts and we will quote one project.
How do we book, and when is the date locked? Tell us your office, headcount, and preferred weeks. Call (714) 912-0766 if your target is close, and we will say plainly whether it is open. San Diego is a short run for a crew based in Orange County, which helps with scheduling.
Can new hires be added to the same look later? Yes. Ask about a follow-up half day as the roster grows, so new people are not left with a phone photo. We keep the lighting and backdrop recipe consistent, so later additions match the original team page, whether you hire in one wave or a trickle.
